It is worth notice that the Graham Signature device is much more expensive than the Flycam device. In fact, its price is four times higher.
It would be logical to expect that the Redking would not win this competition. However, I was surprised to see that the device in question did almost as well as the second more expensive gimbal. Of course, the stabilization performance of the Graham Signature was slightly better when zoomed in. Yet, the Redking did a very good job too.
When it comes to comparing the build quality, I have to admit that the Graham Signature device wins. It has superior build quality, which you would expect from such an expensive gimbal. Yet again, the Flycam Redking did not completely lose this battle. Its body looks expensive and durable, too.
Overall, I do admit that the Glidecam Devin Graham Signature does slightly better than the Flycam Redking. However, given the price difference, I would not recommend anyone to purchase the more expensive device. The performance difference is almost unnoticeable. Meanwhile, the cost difference is huge.
Mounting DSLR Camera To Flycam Redking
How to use Flycam? This is probably one of the most important questions. When it comes to analyzing a gimbal, it is important to look at its stabilization performance. However, one should also take into consideration other factors. Whether it is easy to mount your camera to a gimbal and adjust the settings will affect the time of the shooting.
Quick-Release DSLR Gimbal Plate
The Flycam Redking is featuring a very convenient plate that allows you to easily attach and take off your DSLR camera. The plate also knows as the Manfrotto dovetail quick release plate is pretty standard.
In fact, you will see a similar plate in many tripods and DSLR gimbals. Therefore, if you have experience using those devices, you will find no difficulty in mounting your DSLR to this gimbal. Its simplicity is rather an advantage.
In case you need to do this during one of the shootings, you can quickly substitute a tripod to the Flycam Redking to add more mobility. Most of the DSLR gimbals available in this price category, do not have a quick-release plate. This gives the Flycam Redking an extra advantage.

The Redking has this plate built-in already. This means that you are not going to need to carry additional counterweight plates with you.
The Flycam did not simply glue the gimbal feet to the Redking. In fact, they are screwed in there. This fact makes the stabilizer much more durable. The gimbal feet will not fall out occasionally when the gimbal falls down. This one of the superior build quality features.
In general, Flycam did a great job with its Redking gimbal. Therefore, if you ask yourself “How to use Flycam?”, the answer will be pretty simple. Its control system is user-friendly. The build quality is great.
Balancing Flycam Redking Gimbal DSLR
Even though the Flycam Redking has a lot of advantages and positive sides, you have to remember one thing. This device is not a traditional electronic 3 axis gimbal. Moreover, you will have to balance the glidecam manually. To achieve a good stabilization quality, you will have to have certain skills and proficiency.
However, do not think that balancing the Flycam Redking gimbal for DSLR cameras is rocket science. After doing some research on the topic, you will easily manage to do this. Basically, balancing your gimbal is not that complicated. Remember the main motion rules. The whole balancing thing depends on the adjustments of the two axes.
Even if you have never tried using a mechanical 3 axis gimbal for DSLR, stay assured that you will be able to balance it. The result that you will get at the end is definitely worth it.

Despite the maximum payload of this DSLR gimbal is pretty high and it can support heavy devices, the stabilizer itself is pretty light. The Redking weighs about 1.7 kg or 3.7 pounds. This is the weight without the counterweight plates installed on the gimbal. The counterweight plate weights about 100 grams each or 0.25 pounds.
Therefore, even with the installed counterweight plates, the gimbal DSLR still will be quite light. Of course, the installed camera will add a certain heaviness to the gimbal. However, from my experience, it will still be light enough for filming.
Besides the lightweight, the Flycam Redkings also features a very ergonomic handle. It helps you a lot while filming. Therefore, those two qualities allow the Redking users not to get exhausted while producing their buttery smooth footage.

Ground For Improvement
Even though the Flycam Redking is a great manual 3 axis gimbal for DSLR, there are still a few points that could be improved.
You have to screw in and out the head of the gimbal every time you use it. I do not see it as a huge problem; however, it is slightly annoying. Sometimes you require to attach or take off the gimbal head very quickly, but this complicated system would not let you to. However, it is not a big deal. Just a few years ago, all manual gimbals were like this.
You normally need to mount the gimbal head to the Flycam Redking mostly when you need to travel. If you do not see yourself as a frequent traveler, it is not a problem for you at all. In this case, you can attach the gimbal once and use it.
However, in the future, it would be nice to see a gimbal that would have an automatic system, which allows you to quickly attach your camera and take it off. However, it is worth noting that in this case, the price would probably become higher.
Handle Grip Quality
Another thing that I think is worth improving is the handle grip. Sometimes it does not feel secure enough while using the gimbal. Even though I know that the gimbal is made from durable aluminum, sometimes it seems that the camera is about to fall down.
However, it is just a feeling, and this is clearly not going to happen. This is not a big issue and rather a subjective feeling. Moreover, you can easily get used to it after a few times you use the Flycam Redking.
Besides these two weaknesses, the Flycam Redking seems to be a great gimbal, providing superior stabilization quality.
